~ Underlying Motivation for Life & Work ~

"We are spiritual beings having a human experience” ~ Pierre Tielhard de Chardin.

Each person has the gift of body & breath, spirit & physical presence. That’s something to marvel over.

I’m a Life Enthusiast .

Dwelling in a body means I get to smell & taste, to touch & feel, to think & imagine & dream, to listen & hear, as well as look & see. And, with life, comes the ability to create & bring life into this world. Bringing beauty, inspiration, and life into the world is my joy. Creating spaces where others can nurture joy, experience hope, rest in love, and pursue connection with the Divine is deeply meaningful. It is like setting the table for fellow travelers to invite fellowship & sustenance.

For all I take into myself & give out into the world, I continually give thanks!

HOW AMAZING: I GET TO BE HERE!! YOU GET TO BE HERE!!

Every bit of it is a gift.

Join me around the table, at ministry events, outdoors or on the trail, or even for a coffee sometime.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY., back in the day before it was ultra-conservative. Throughout almost 30 years, I have served in diverse ministry roles, including age-specific roles, as Associate Pastor, and as Pastor at Westhunt Baptist Church for nearly 9 of those years. Most recently I served as Associate Pastor for Adult Discipleship at River Road Church, Baptist in Henrico County. I’m a trustee for Sophia Seminary and a member of the General Council of the Baptist World Alliance, representing the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

In departing ministry within a local congregation, I am looking forward to offering creative ministry opportunities in which nature, creativity, and Spirit come together. I enjoy creating (watercolor, dreamcatchers, green wall pieces, writing, & mixed media), reading, hiking & spending time outdoors, walking my mini golden doodle, & learning new things. I find indigenous wisdom and the ever-growing knowledge about the natural world to be hopeful and refreshing. I’m energized by listening to music, enjoying friends, & traveling. And, I can often be found treasure hunting outside for rocks, shells, shark teeth, tulip poplar seed pods, feathers… There is just so much to cherish & enjoy!

I have the privilege of being married to my college sweetheart, mother to three grown children who are such a joy to me, mother-in-law to two precious women who have joined the family, and Granna to an amazing grandson.

Pictures speak a thousand words.
